“Svencele Dunes” is an apartment and townhouse complex on the Curonian Lagoon shoreline. Currently, 5,000 sq.m of charred wood facade cladding has already been installed in the complex. The real estate developers are continuing to expand the project.
For this order, we consulted the project developers and architects on facade solutions, profiles, and quantities. By offering more accessible, standard dimensions, we reduced the cost of facade materials. A more complex solution was used in the project—larger battens were mounted onto facade boards. We produced the 5,000 sq.m of cladding materials in two stages (following the project’s progression) and took approximately two months to complete.
Clients choose charred wood facade cladding for many reasons, but the primary goal for this project was to find a durable cladding solution resistant to the humidity and harsh winds of the Curonian Lagoon. Additionally, the aim was to stand out from other coastal projects by offering future residents aesthetically pleasing, sustainable solutions that maintain harmony with nature.
“Sugi Ban Wood” was one of the first to implement such a large-scale charred wood facade cladding project on Lithuania’s coast.
