The facade of the black homestead

Location: Pilaitė, Vilnius, Lithuania
Colors: NARA
Area: 1,000 sq. m

NARA

The black homestead is a great example of achieving a unique result using just one color, while playing with shapes, patterns, and plank sizes.

This homestead is being built in a picturesque area of Vilnius, near a forest and a river. The client sought high-quality facade finishing materials that would allow the building complex to blend into nature while maintaining a contemporary look, fulfilling the visions of both architects and owners. It became clear that synthetic or medium-quality solutions were not suitable here. Durable, high-quality, and natural materials were required. The client came up with the idea of using charred wood for the facade, which is still relatively new in Lithuania.

Battens, columns, and planks of varying widths and lengths – all of this can be found in this homestead. The project elevated the use of charred wood cladding to a new level. The client unleashed their imagination, creating a homestead exterior with a distinctive design.
